THE MOON DOGGIE MKI AND
MKII
Luthier Curtis Franklin (email) handmade (http://www.moondoggieguitars.com) both guitars. Both guitars were conceptualized by the Cheetah but realized by Curtis. First the specs on the newest model, the MkII.
The MkII is a fully hollow electric guitar approx 2 1/2" deep. The design utilizes eight control knobs. Each of the three Seymour Duncan Seth Lover humbuckers utilize seperate tone and volume controls. One master volume controls the volumes all three pickups simultaneously.Finally, the eight knob selects between pickup combinations of 1.neck pickup alone 2.neck and middle pickups 3.all three pickups 4.middle and bridge pickups 5.bridge pickup alone. The same woods were used as in the Md 20/20. No F holes were cut in order to reduce hollowbody howl. Also, the horns were thickened and certain bracing used to further reduce howl. The completely hollow MLII can be played unplugged on the knee or through 100 watts of amp.
